Coaching Certifications

 

  • At the start of the 2025 outdoor season, CASA will have a MANDATORY online meeting for all U9+ coaches. Information will be shared once details known.
  • RMSA will be setting up coach session(s) to help house league and competitive coaches learn the game, role, techniques. Information will be shared once details confirmed.

 May 10, 2025: CASA Clinic for all Rimbey players AND Coaches

  • Put on by the CASA Technical Committee
  • At the soccer fields unless poor weather, then will move to the Hockey Arena
  • U9 1:30 - 2:30
  • U11 group 1 3:00 - 4:00
  • U11 group 2 4:15 - 5:15
  • U13 5:45 - 6:45

 

The following courses are mandatory for coaches.

These MUST be completed before the season starts (unless approved by either the house league or competitive league coordinator).

Any costs for the course will be paid by the coach and then reimbursed by RMSA once the course is completed.

For the training that contains a theory & practical component - both must be completed before reimbursement issued.

Any cost incurred for travel or time to take the course won't be covered by RMSA or CASA.

CRC/VS: Criminal Record Check for Vulnerable Sector - Annual requirement for coaches.

Respect in Sports - Leader: completed online. Expires every 3 years.

  • Transferrable if done for another sport

Coaching Soccer in Canada: completed online. No expiry.

  • Completed through Canada Soccer, will be available once registered for the theory component of the coaching course for Active Start, Fundamentals, Learn to Train or Soccer for Life.

Coaching courses: online theory to be completed first. THEN register for practical session. No expiry.

Additional courses can be taken, but these are not mandatory. Any costs for these courses will be at the coach’s expense unless requested or approved by the RMSA Board and/or CASA.
