2025 Parent, Player, Coach Information

For U9 - U13: Generally (1) game per week, can be up to (2) games per week.
For U9 - U13: Coaches will set practice nights and times.
U9 - U13 Teams - RULE of TWO:
- For protection of players & coaches.
- There are always (2) screened volunteers (coach, technical coordinator, bench parent, manager) when there’s interaction with a child.
- Second person is within earshot of interaction. EXCEPTION: medical emergencies.
- One of the volunteers must be the same gender as the child.
*For House League, multiple screened coaches and coordinators will be on the field at the same time.
- House league parents are responsible to take their child to the washroom and assist with any behavioural issues as they arise.
ALL - Communication to players/parents: completed by coaches and/or managers via emails and/or text.
- RMSA will use the RAMP app for house league & competitive in 2025.

- RMSA board will communicate through emails, facebook and RMSA website

U9 - U13 Teams - Safety: NO jewelry OR hats allowed (practices or games). Taping not acceptable.
U9 - U13 Player Cards: required by CASA, pictures from RAMP - cards made up by RMSA and provided to coaches.
All - Pictures: consent previously done during registration, if concerns let us know. For sponsor thank-you, FB posts, etc.
House League (U5 - U7) estimated season: early May if field conditions are favorable till end of June.
U9 - U13 Teams - CASA estimated season: May 5 till June 22
- Indoor Practices to start in April - RMSA board will communicate days, times and locations once set.
- U9: Year end festival - date TBC
- U11: U11 challenge - date June 20-22
- U13 & U15: Tier 4 provincial qualifier - date June 20-22
- U13 & U15: Tier 4 Provincials (if team progresses) - date July 4-6
U9 - U13: Playing Up (when an older age group needs extra player(s)):
- Coaches, players & parents: work with RMSA competitive coordinator (Maria).
- Max 5 games per player during regular season.
- Tournaments count as 1 time (for the whole tournament).

COACHES:
ALL:
- Complete all required CASA training and documentation. See RMSA webpage for more info.
- Follow CASA & RMSA expectations of a coach
- Communicate with players on practice and game details.
RMSA house league (Rachel) and competitive league coordinator (Maria) will support coaches for seasonal information.
RMSA technical coordinator (Leeann) will support coaches for questions on seasons, skills, support.

U9 - U13:
- Book games & practice times on RMSA field scheduler (to ensure not interfering with other groups).
- Rescheduled games: need to notify CASA and Ref Coordinator (Rieki)
- Look after team equipment (including jerseys), provided by RMSA equipment coordinator (Terri).
- Manage player cards, provided by RMSA competitive coordinator (Maria).
- Provided a copy of the RMSA Emergency Action Plan (EAP) and First Aid Kit (Terri)
CODE OF CONDUCT: All parents & coaches read and acknowledged the Code of Ethics on registration.
Coaches, players & parents must review and understand expectations.
Key items:
- No harassment, violence, discrimination towards coaches, players, parents or refs.
- Players - report any medical problems in a timely fashion.
- Respect by coaches, players and parents towards each other, the opposite team, spectators and refs. SPORTSMANSHIP
- ZERO tolerance of any harassment to refs - coaches will act as liaison to ref to ensure any concerns are addressed and prevented from escalating.
Concerns/Incidents: please document any/all details at time of the event. Communication in most scenarios will be:
U9 - U13 Tournaments (only registered CASA players, can blend 2 teams to make 1 team):
Coaches to register for tournaments and review with RMSA board for reimbursement funds (if available)
- May 24: U9 Bentley Tournament - cost TBA
- Registration Deadline: TBA
- May 24-25: U11 Rimbey Spring Rush Tournament - Rimbey teams have no fee, expectation to help with tournament.
- Registration Deadline: TBA
- May 29 - June 1: U11-U17 Camrose Night Classic - $700
- Registration Deadline: May 16 (camping registration opens April 18)
- June 12 - 15: U9-U19 Wetaskiwin Spirit Cup - U9 $300, U11 $500, U13 & U15 $600
- Registration Deadline: TBA
All - Extra Opportunities:
- Ref Courses, Mini or Entry Level Ref (coaches can attend too)
- April 12 or 13 - in RIMBEY.
- Mini Ref must be 12 years old by May 15, 2025. (U9 ref)
- Entry Level Red must be 14 years old by May 15, 2025. (U9 ref, U11-15 assistant/line)
U9 - U13 Basic Game Rules/Information:
- Coaches will schedule time to go through the game rules and specific information on (but not limited to):
- Throw Ins,
- Goal Kicks, Corner Kicks, Free Kicks (direct & in-direct), Penalty Kicks
- Retreat line
- Offside
- Proper Substitution method
